History
Since its inception in 1996, LF members have worked together with the support of The London Development Agency and London Councils (formerly The Association of London Government), to strengthen the infrastructure of the voluntary and community sector in London. Although London Funders (previously named London Funders Group) ran on an informal basis for many years, in August 2004, it was re-launched with a new secretariat and programme of events. In November 2005, LF became a company limited by guarantee (Company Registration No: 5596299) and obtained charitable status (Charity Number 1116201).
Membership of London Funders (LF) is open to all London-based local authorities, public, independent charitable trusts and corporate funders and to all charitable funders and investors in the capital's voluntary and community sector. There are currently more than 100 members and their combined expenditure on a wide variety of voluntary action in London is approximately £600 million per annum.
