Introduction

London Funders is the umbrella body for funders of London’s voluntary and community sector, uniquely bringing together public sector funders, independent foundations and corporate givers. Other regions and countries in the UK have particular needs and disadvantages but in London their scale and complexity are masked by areas of extreme affluence. Funders need to know about how policy affects the capital and how funding can be developed to meet the diverse needs of London’s communities. We bring funders together to share knowledge, develop best practice, improve efficiency and increase leverage of funding. London Funders is unique in working across all sectors. Regional and local government funders enter into dialogue with independent foundations, livery companies, loan finance investors, corporate sector grantmakers and philanthropists. Each works within different frameworks and constraints and all have distinct yet overlapping objectives.
