London Policy Conference 2011
On 12/13 December, London's Southbank Centre played host to this first-time conference from IPPR and Centre for London. London’s big strength – an organic city, reinventing itself; its weaknesses a long list – housing, skills, employment… “systems failure”. The Mayor got headlines for challenging Olympo-sceptics and Ken Livingstone for proposing a London Living Rent (rents no more than a third of household income) and highlighting “the cruellest cut” - to children’s and young people's services.
